In a faith-based appeal for collective action against the persistent security challenges facing Borno State, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has urged all residents to observe a voluntary day of fast and prayer this coming Monday. The Governor’s call, delivered during a statewide broadcast on Saturday, aims to rally communal spiritual strength in the face of ongoing violence and instability.

Governor Zulum emphasized the potential for shared faith to provide solace and relief to the state, stating clearly: “Collective prayer and fasting can strengthen communal faith and bring relief to the state.” He addressed the citizens directly, urging them to “remain calm, steadfast, and united” during what he acknowledged are profoundly difficult times for the region.

The Governor explained that the initiative is intended to unify the people in a shared act of supplication, “seeking divine intervention to ease difficulties facing Borno State and the country at large.” This spiritual approach supplements the military and political strategies already deployed by his administration.

Governor Zulum took the opportunity to reaffirm his administration’s unwavering commitment to achieving stability, ensuring security, and upholding the welfare of the people, stressing the critical value of patience and calmness among the populace.

He assured farmers that his administration would provide the necessary resources required to boost production and sustain the food security gains achieved despite the ongoing conflict.
