Bishop Kukah Confident in General Musa to Restore Nigeria’s Security

The Catholic Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, has expressed strong optimism regarding the appointment of General Christopher Musa (retd) as the Minister of Defence, stating that Nigeria’s security challenges are now in capable hands.

Dependable NG reports that Bishop Kukah articulated this confidence on Thursday while addressing State House correspondents shortly after attending the swearing-in ceremony of General Musa at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

The cleric stated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu appears intent on fundamentally repositioning national security and restoring calm across the country. He said, “With Musa, Nigeria’s security is in good hands. It does seem very clear that the President wants to reposition issues of security, and I think the situation is in very good hands.”

Bishop Kukah further disclosed that he attended the ceremony “wearing two caps” as the Archbishop of Sokoto and as a representative of the Sultan of Sokoto a gesture that underscores the broad support for the new Minister.

According to the Bishop, Nigeria’s national challenge is simple and clear: it revolves around restoring normalcy by any means possible. The appointment of General Musa as Minister of Defence followed the resignation of Badaru Mohammed.
