Chiefpriest Blasts Fayose Over Nnamdi Kanu Remark
Nigerian socialite and businessman Okechukwu Pascal, widely known as Chiefpriest, has fiercely attacked Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, following comments regarding the political alignment of Igbos under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The clash stems from Isaac Fayose’s assertion that Igbos have neglected the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently detained in a correctional facility in Sokoto.
Fayose had claimed in a video that while Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho was eventually cleared of charges and returned to Nigeria, Nnamdi Kanu remains imprisoned, implying a lack of effective action from Igbo leadership. This drew a sharp response from Chiefpriest, who defended the strategy of aligning with the current federal government as necessary for business growth rather than a sign of weakness.
Chiefpriest dismissed Fayose’s criticism, arguing that opposing the government would not facilitate the release of Nnamdi Kanu and challenged him to identify the specific Yoruba businessmen who aided Sunday Igboho’s legal troubles in the Benin Republic. The socialite went further to question Fayose’s own business credibility, challenging him to a public debate on wealth and enterprise.
Asserting his position as a major employer, Chiefpriest claimed to have over 1,000 people working under his initiatives, stating that he cannot afford to jeopardize their livelihoods by engaging in conflict with the government. He emphasized that his focus remains squarely on business and strategic political alignment.
In a highly personal retort, Chiefpriest dismissed Fayose as a “useless and jealous guy,” boasting that the value of the clothes and accessories in his own wardrobe outweighs Fayose’s entire net worth. He reaffirmed his commitment to his chosen path of entrepreneurship and political pragmatism.
