Na’Allah: APC Founded with Nigeria’s Best Intentions

In a spirited defense of the ruling party’s ethos, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Senator Bala Na’Allah has asserted that no political platform in Nigeria’s history was conceived with a more genuine commitment to the national interest. Speaking Monday on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Na’Allah argued that while other parties have faltered, the APC remains the only vehicle capable of navigating the country toward a stable and prosperous future.

The senator’s comments come during a season of significant political realignment, marked by a “gale of defections” that has seen the governors of Kano, Plateau, and Taraba states officially dump their parties for the APC. While these high-profile acquisitions have bolstered the party’s numbers, Na’Allah was quick to caution that structural growth alone does not guarantee success in the 2027 general elections. Instead, he maintained that the party must win the “hearts and minds” of a populace currently navigating tough economic reforms.

“The APC has to work seriously to convince the people that whatever they are going through is reasonably necessary,” Na’Allah stated. He framed the current socio-economic challenges as a “positioning” phase, essential for correcting years of what he described as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) failure to provide Nigerians with the comfort of a secure country. He reminded viewers that the APC was born from a small group of believers who realized the previous trajectory was unsustainable.

Reflecting on the recent entry of Governors Abba Yusuf (Kano), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), and Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Na’Allah noted that the impact of these defections will ultimately depend on the governors’ performance in their respective states. He argued that the political class must now bridge the gap between holding authority and building genuine followership through service delivery.

The APC chieftain’s narrative seeks to reposition the party as a “missionary” organization rather than just a political machine. By emphasizing the “best intentions” behind its formation, he is calling on both party leaders and the electorate to look past immediate hardships and focus on the long-term structural repairs being undertaken by the Tinubu administration. For Na’Allah, the APC’s origin story remains its greatest strength—a party founded to rescue a nation from a drifting status quo.

As the 2027 political calendar begins to take shape, Na’Allah’s intervention serves as a rallying cry for party unity and a strategic roadmap for communication. His message is clear: while the APC welcomes new members into its “many mansions,” its survival depends on its ability to translate those “best intentions” into visible relief for the Nigerian people.
