CAC Announces Mandatory New Requirements for Online Business Name Updates

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced new mandatory requirements that must be provided for all Business Name Online Update requests submitted to the commission.

Dependable NG reports that the commission posted a notice titled, “Important Notice For Business Name Update”, on its official X handle on Wednesday, detailing the immediate changes.

The CAC stated that effective immediately, all Business Name Online Update requests must include five specific details. These mandatory new requirements are: Date of Birth, Registered Office Email, Proprietor’s Email, Phone Number for the registered Address (or the Proprietor if different), and a Valid Means of Identification.

The commission emphasized the necessity of providing these additional details to ensure the smooth processing of all update requests.
