Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Joseph Dosu, has issued a stern public warning to current national team shot-stopper, Stanley Nwabali, reminding him that “no goalkeeper is bigger than Nigeria.”
Dependable NG reports that Dosu issued the warning via a post on X (formerly Twitter) following Nwabali’s shaky performance in Nigeria’s narrow 2-1 victory against Lesotho in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday. The incident occurred in the final seven minutes of the match when the 29-year-old failed to properly handle a corner kick, which allowed Lesotho’s Hlompho Kalake to score and briefly level the encounter.
Speaking after the game, Dosu advised Nwabali to maintain his resolve and focus. “No goalkeeper, I repeat no goalkeeper that’s bigger than NIGERIA. My advice to you is to remain focused at this crucial time. Stay concentrated and committed,” Dosu wrote, stressing the importance of commitment and concentration in the national team shirt.
